DDAI and its affiliate organizations offer workshops year-round. These
workshops are geared toward teachers, parents, and professionals who
want to learn how to use Davis methods with students, clients, and
family members.
Classroom teachers, school directors or principals interested in our
early intervention or at-risk program for primary grade children should
consider our
Davis Learning Strategies Teacher Workshops.
Most Courses and Workshops taken in the US and Canada qualify for
university undergraduate/graduate and CEU credits, awarded via
California State University East Bay
. Fees for academic credits are $44 per unit plus $45 DDAI administrative fee per course, in addition to the
regular course fee.

Fundamentals of Dyslexia Correction (4-Day Workshop):
This four-day workshop is a professional level
introduction
to the Davis methods and theories described
in
The Gift of Dyslexia.
Demonstrations, some
hands-on practice, group exercises, lectures, question and answer
sessions, and guidance on basic implementation of Davis Dyslexia
Correction are offered.
This course is the first requirement for certification as a
Davis Facilitator. In the US and Canada, academic units are available
through California State University East Bay (additional fee and
practicum required). Attendance is limited to 30 persons.
Includes course manual, 15-minute post-workshop consultation,
Symbol Mastery Kit (US workshops only), and Verification of
Attendance letter.
Mastery of Motivation and Responsibility Workshop
(2 Day Workshop):
This experiential two-day course covers the basic principles
and concepts which underlie the two most vital concepts for
success as a Davis Facilitator.
Attendance at this workshop is optional prior to initial licensing as a
Davis Facilitator. Attendance is required prior to first year license
renewal.
Includes manual and Verification of Attendance letter.

Basic
Supervised Practice Meeting on Orientation Counseling &
Symbol Mastery:
This four-day training is open to students who have completed
the Basic Davis Field Assignments. Its purpose is to refine
counselor skills, and develop increased experiential
understanding of dyslexic perception, thinking, learning style
and process. It may be repeated to improve skills. It provides
intensive supervised practice in small groups of the basic Davis
Dyslexia Correction procedures.
Group size is limited to 6 persons. Includes Specialist
consultations and evaluations.
Prerequisites:
Fundamentals of Davis Dyslexia
Correction Workshop; Basic Davis Field Assignments.
Academic Credit (US & Canada Only):
5.5 quarter units undergraduate, or
6 quarter units graduate or CEU available.
