What kinds of accommodations can be given to dyslexic students studying and taking exams?


Some common accommodations for dyslexic students are:

  • Oral testing
  • Additional time on tests
  • Use of untimed tests
  • Eliminate or reduce spelling tests
  • Don’t force oral reading
  • Accept dictated homework
  • Reduce homework load
  • Grade on content, not spelling nor handwriting
  • Reduce copying tasks
