There continues to be debate among researchers of dyslexia about not only the most effective interventions but about the very nature of the ‘disability’.
This paper explores both conventional phonological deficit theories around dyslexia and their associated interventions, and the separate concept of neurodiversity and different forms of thinking, especially pertaining to the Davis Dyslexia approach and its effect on word recognition, spelling, and reading.
